android kitkat 4.4At last Google has officially unveiled the new version of Android, the 4.4, called KitKat. For this occasion it also presented the new smartphone Nexus 5.

The novelties of this new Android are several, many of which we will discover in the next few days. The focus of this new release is the user experience. The general design, in line with the new course, it is now cleaner and more simplified, bringing in evidence the content and focussing on the user.

For example: If we are listening the music, we'll see how the background of the lock screen of our phone, the cover of the album. If we are watching a movie or reading a book, the screen will now be totally dedicated to what we are looking at, by removing all controls.

Also Google Now and voice search have been updated. Now we can interact with our phone, simply saying "Okay, Google" in our home screen or in the search screen and do perform at our phone tasks like sending messages or initiate a sing.

The phone application, which often passes almost overshadowed by a most striking feature, also received some improvements. Now the call section has been updated in the style of Google Now and highlights the contacts with whom we make more calls.

Incoming calls that are not from contacts in our address book, now show name and other data, where the information originates public boards from Google + Local.

Many other applications have received updates and new features, such as Hangout, which now allows you to share your location information and manage SMS, or Google+ for Android, which now puts particular emphasis on the section and the features related to the photos.

One thing that Google has, however, emphasized is the optimization of this new version of Android in memory usage, allowing KitKat to run on devices with just 512 MB of memory. Google's intention is to reach, with the latest version of its operating system, all devices in the medium / low range.

However, it seems to be the official abandonment of the Galaxy Nexus, which will not be updated with the new version of Android. This news leaves a bit 'a bad taste in mouth, since the device, which has a large group of loyalists, has 1GB of memory, more than enough to keep updating.

For this occasion google also presented the new smartphone Nexus 5.

The device, as usual, aims to provide the best possible Google Experience, highlighting the new possibilities offered by the latest version of Android.

The launch of the device, as well as what of KitKat, have been a bit chaotic. Many have been the "leak" in the days and weeks before and has not been done an official event, but only more or less official communications on Google+. Probably for the "common" user this fact is not very relevant, but for the insiders is a move little happy and confusing.
